At 02:02 on Wednesday morning, January 28th, following a request from the Long Ridge Fire Department, BIFD was dispatched to respond Tanker 7 to a working structure fire on Rock Rimmon Road in Stamford, CT. Tanker 7 made 5 trips between the fire scene and the fill-site located at a hydrant in front of LRFD station #1. Additional tankers from other local communities also responded to the scene, including the Pound Ridge, NY and Round Hill (Greenwich, CT) tankers.
Although seperated by the NY-CT state line (and a very narrow, hilly and winding road) the Banksville Fire Department and the Long Ridge Fire Department have worked together for many years through a written mutual aid agreement that dates back to 1953.
