March 5, 2011

On Wednesday March 2nd, at around 5pm, the Armonk Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 16 Greenway Rd. Upon 2023's (Armonk 2nd Asst Chief Waterbury) arrival, he found fire and heavy smoke showing from the roof of a 150'x 80' 2 1/2 story wood frame residental house. 2022 (Armonk Asst Chief Labriola-Cuffe) then requested a working fire assignment bringing Engine 157 and Tanker 7 from Banksville, the FAST and an Engine from Mt. Kisco and ladder from North White Plains to the scene. Bedford Hills, Katonah, Pound Ridge and Pleasntville Tankers were requested into the scene to establish a tanker shuttle, while Engine 157 laid 4,200 feet of 5 inch hose to a large lake on Lake Ridge Rd. Bedford Engine 110 was then placed in line as a relay pumper to Armonk Engine 286.

Special thanks to the crew from Bedford Hills Engine 199 that back filled our station during the extended operation.
