At 07:11 this morning, BIFD was dispatched to a possible structure fire, with several callers reporting flames coming from the roof of a home on Cedar Hill Road. In addition to Banksville units, a tanker from Armonk and an engine from Bedford Village were also requested and initiated response. Upon arrival, firefighters found a smoke condition in the attic, however the bulk of the fire had been extinguished by the home owner. Firefighters checked for extension, vented the attic, and performed salvage in an effort to minimize damage. A faulty attic fan was determined to be the cause of the fire.
