| July 5, 1949 | Organizational meeting held at the Banksville Community House. The original organizers of the company were: Frank Zygmont, Eagan Zygmont, George Zygmont, Ted Mackewitz, Kasmer Slusar and James F. Sullivan. |
| August 1949 | First fire truck obtained – a second-hand, 1926 American LaFrance was purchased from the City of Norwalk, Ct. for $318. With the fire company having no land or fire station, the truck is housed in Eagan Zygmont’s garage. |
| January 1950 | Banksville Fire Police unit is organized. |
| January 1950 | New York State charter is received. |
| February 1950 | State of Connecticut charter is received. |
| Winter 1950 | Official fire company emblem is chosen. The emblem, a fire helmet with a bolt of lighting emblazoned across it, serves as a reminder of the first fire call … a barn fire at Henker’s Farm resulting from a lighting strike. |
| April 1951 | Fire company acquires land. Two deeds were received - .10 acres from James F. Sullivan and .05 acres from Michael Zygment, each for “$10 and other considerations.” |
| July 1951 | First fire company parade and carnival held. |
| 1952 | Original firehouse is constructed by members. |
| June 1952 | Fire company officially recognized as a “helper company” in the Town of Greenwich. |
| January 1953 | A 1921 Seagrave pumper is donated to Banksville by the Town of Greenwich. |
| March 1953 | Mutual aid agreement signed with the Long Ridge Fire Company of Stamford, CT. |
| 1954 | First new fire truck purchased – A Maxim, 750 gpm pumper |
| 1957 | Fire Police purchase new vehicle. |
| 1962 | A second new Maxim 750 gpm pumper is purchased |
| September 1968 | A quick response from Banksville saves a local landmark, Finch’s CountyStore. |
| 1969 | 4-wheel brush truck, later referred to as the “Lil’ Monster” is purchased. Mini-Attack 11 served from 1969 until 2008. |
| 1973 | Fire Police purchase new GMC patrol unit. |
| July 1974 | Fire company celebrates its 25th anniversary |
| 1976 | Historic Middle Patent School is destroyed by an arson fire. |
| November 1977 | An additional .35 acres of land is purchased by the fire company from Michael Zygmont. |
| June 1979 | A used septic truck is purchased and work begins on refurbishing it into a fire department tanker. |
| March 1980 | Tanker 7 - our first tanker - is placed into service. |
| July 1980 | Barn fire at White Birch Farm. Nine thoroughbreds die. |
| Summer 1981 | Fire station enlarged with an addition to the building’s north side. |
| October 1984 | Fire company celebrates 35th anniversary. |
| October 1984 | A brand new 1500 gpm Mack pumper - Engine 159 - is placed into service. |
| May 1987 | Dedication program held to celebrate gift of nearly ¾ of an acre of land Peter Brant. |
| 1988 | A brand new 1500 gpm Mack fire engine replaces the 1961 Maxim |
| 1989 | Original Tanker 7 replaced with 1250 gpm Mack tanker |
| April 1992 | Fire at the historic 1848 Middle Patent Church. Banksville firefighters rescue person who intentionally set fire from burning building. |
| July 1999 | Golden Anniversary is celebrated with a parade and block party. |
| 1999 | BIFD Memorial Garden honoring deceased members was designed. |
