The fall of 2011 was a busy season for the Banksville Fire Department. Here are some notable events.

In late September, BIFD placed a new Chevrolet Suburban outfitted by Mobile Fleet of Farmingdale NY in service as a Chiefs vehicle(2581). The former 2581, A 2005 Chevrolet Suburban then became the Assistant chiefs vehicle (2582) This giving us two Chiefs vehicles for the first time.

Novermber 12th, Engine 158 and 2582 respond along with Greenwich Engine 8 to Taconic Rd in the area of Farms Rd for wires down with a small brush fire.

November 20th, BIFD firefighters responded to a fully involved car fire at the intersection of Round Hill Rd and Banksville Rd. Armonk Tanker 9 responded mutual aid to the scene.

Another first for the BIFD, In late November we placed in service a 2011 Mack/ KME 3500 gallon tanker. This Tanker replaces the former Tanker 7, the 1989 Mack/ Amthors 3300gallon tanker (now serving as Tanker 17). We are now operating two tankers.

In early December, BIFD was busy participating in local holiday events including The Businesses of Banksville Thank You Thursday event, the Toys for Tots evetns held at the Banksville Community House, and the North Castle Frosty the Snowman parade.
