On November 19th, I teamed with members of the Bedford Fire Department and participated in the American Lung Association's Fight for Air Climb to help fight diseases such as asthma, emphysema, COPD and lung cancer. The event was held at the Trump Parc building in Stamford and involved climbing the stairs to the top of the 34 story building. We participated in the firefighter division, which means we climbed all 34 stories in full firefighter gear (coat, pants, boots, helmet and air pack) weighing about 50 pounds. What a workout!!!!

The Bedford Fire Department team, lead by team captain Shawn Carmody, raised over $3,400 to help fight lung disease, earning them 3rd place in the team fundraising category. Congratulations!

The team also won several medals in the firefighter division races:

John Curtin - 1st place under 18 (7:05)

Michael Gorman- 1st place, 40-49 (5:43)
Walter Watson - 2nd place, 40-49 (5:48)
Ernest Vogliano, Jr. - 3rd place, 40-49 (5:59)

Thank you to the Bedford Fire Department and their Stair Climb Team for allowing me to climb as part of their team.

I'd also like to give a special thank you to everyone who supported my participation in this event by making a donation to American Lung Association on my behalf. YOU MADE THE CLIMB WITH ME. THANK YOU!
