It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of ex-chief William (Billy) Richardson Jr. Billy joined the department in 1967 and was an active member for 53 years. He served as Chief for four terms and a total of eleven years, most recently serving in 2018 and 2019.

In 2017 Chief Richardson was recognized for his 50 years of service with the District Chief's award at the Greenwich Volunteer Firefighter annual dinner. He also served as the Building Committee Chairman for the expansion of our fire house.

Billy was a third-generation member of the department and his grandfather and brother also served as Chief. The fire department and the community thank him for his many years of active service.

Thank you for such a nice tribute in honor of my dad. The firehouse and community meant so much to him.
