| On Saturday, October 19th, Banksville firefighters participated along with firefighters from Stamford, Bedford, Cos Cob, Belltown, Westport and Norwalk in the 2013 Tackle Trump Parc Fight for Air Climb in Stamford. The event raised over $40,000 for the American Lung Association's fight against lung disease. Nearly 200 people climbed 33 stories (571 stairs) to the top floor of the building. Firefighters made the climb in full turnout gear and air pack. The Banksville team took 2nd place in the firefighter team division.
Congratulations to all participants who took on the challenge, and special congratulations to the Stamford and Bedford fire departments who placed first and second respectively in fundraising and raised nearly $6,000 between them. |
